‘Shankly’ is a name proudly associated with the city of Liverpool, with Liverpool FC and now with Everkool.
The latest in our long-standing relationship with the Signature Living Group, and just one of many prestigious projects we’ve been commissioned to work on in recent years, The Shankly Hotel is a tribute to one of football’s greatest managers Bill Shankly.
Currently offering spacious accommodation in the form of 83 luxurious rooms and suites filled with unseen memorabilia rooms, a trendy bar and a 150-cover restaurant, the landmark hotel will go a stage further in Spring 2016 when phase two is completed.
Phase two will include a rooftop bar and restaurant, infinity swimming pool, conference facilities and 100ft slide which will be used to raise money for charity.
Our extensive works on Phase One of the project, undertaken between February 2015 and its grand opening on 15th August 2015, covered the majority of the building inside and outside and from the roof downwards and involved the full range of air conditioning, ventilation and refrigeration services.
Having previously worked together on numerous occasions, the Everkool team, other contractors and the Client were already familiar with the working practices and processes – a contributory factor in the early completion of the project – a £20million project which was anticipated to take 14 months but was actually completed within six months.
As an accredited installer and Business Solutions Partner with Mitsubishi Electric we receive frequent technical training and support on the latest technologies and initiatives, insight which enables us to specify the best possible equipment to meet the needs and budgets of our Clients.
For The Shankly we recommended Mitsubishi Electric’s City Multi Range, Mitsubishi Electrics’s equivalent to large scale VRF (Variable Refrigerant Flow) applications. The City Multi range is widely acclaimed across the sector and recognised for its substantial increase in seasonal energy efficiency, low running costs and reduced CO2 emissions.
Its flexibility, with up to 50 indoor units can be connected from just 1 outdoor unit, was also a factor as we look ahead to the next stages of The Shankly’s development. A total of 12 City Range systems and accompanying ductwork were installed.
Mitsubishi Electric indoor fan coil units were custom sprayed to match the Client’s chosen colour scheme and blend seamlessly into the rooms and suites, with each treated with Blygold’s anti-corrosion coating to ensure optimum performance and to maximise its lifecycle.
To date 75 fan coils have been installed, with a further 45 scheduled.
Renowned locally amongst Liverpool’s bars and restaurants for our refrigeration expertise, we also supplied and installed the equipment to ensure the stock of food and drinks for the Hotel’s numerous bars and Bastion restaurant is kept at the optimum temperatures. This included the cellar cooling system, the walk-in fridge and freezers, the bar fridges and ice machines
In addition to the core air conditioning works, we supplied and installed 60 extraction systems into the toilets together with the associated ductworks, as well as fire dampers throughout the Hotel.
“It’s no coincidence that we work with Everkool on our most prestigious projects. Craig and his team are meticulous in their attention to detail, which complements the way we work and what we look for from a trusted partner.”
