Full air conditioning system in a listed building

Epic Hotels run some of Liverpool’s best hotels and apartments. Based in in Liverpool city centre, the company’s portfolio includes high-end apartments and hotel across the city, including the gorgeous Seel St Hotel.

When the company wanted to add 22 new apartments to their offering, they found ideal premises on Duke St. In keeping with all Epic Hotels venues, the building was unique and characterful – which often presents engineering challenges to implement the extremely high level of services that they demand.

In this particular case, the challenge to fully air condition 22 new apartments in a newly acquired grade 2 listed building was not insignificant!

We worked with designers to come up with a installation that both suited Epic Hotels requirements and satisfied the stringent building regulations that apply to grade 2 listed building.

We installed 22 split air conditioning systems working around the clock to meet the deadline that the schedule demanded if the aparthotel was to open as planned. We manufactured a bespoke suspended steel platform to allow all condensing units to be fitted to the exterior of building in accordance with grade 2 listed regulations.
