Everkool has a proven track record of working alongside a number of Liverpool’s highest profile property developers in recent years; playing our part in the renovation of some of the City’s most iconic buildings.

We are proud to be able to add Ei8ht Water Street to this portfolio of properties.

A redevelopment conceived by Prospect Capital, and its lead partner Craig Blackwell, the building’s overhaul includes its façade, the creation of 96 individual residential units comprising studios, one and two-bedroom apartments with a vision for a further two additional storeys. Modern roof gardens to the second and fifth floors will provide stunning city-wide views.

Wholly aware of our local reputation as HVAC specialists, main M&E contractor STL Heating approached us to oversee the air conditioning needs for Phase 1 of the development – namely specifying, sourcing and undertaking the installation across the Ground, First & Second floors, all for commercial use with tenants including Aviva and Ascot Property Management.

The first three floors, approximately 20% of the total floor space, is to be for commercial use only, with the remainder designated for residential use.

As part of the clearance of the building and separation of the residential from the commercial space, we worked closely with appointed specialist Mees Demolition to decommission and remove the existing equipment, using cranes where required.

Once again our natural choice of industry partner for the project was Daikin, with whom we are an approved D1 Installer. Following a site survey, discussions with the architects and Daikin themselves we opted to specify the Daikin VRV (Variable Refrigerant Volume) HVAC System.

The Daikin VRV system is a multi-zone air conditioner ideally suited to commercial buildings because of its variable refrigerant flow control, which provides individual zonal control to each room and floor. A total of three systems, one per floor, were installed by our highly skilled, Daikin-trained team of air conditioning engineers during October and November 2016.

A Bootle-based air-conditioning company has been praised for its commitment to providing training and apprenticeship opportunities.

Craig Greenwood, founder of Everkool, signed up ten apprentices earlier this month on the back of enjoying a string of contract wins in 2018.

He has sought to do so every year since launching the company in 2008.

Mayor Joe Anderson said: “Craig’s commitment to providing training and job opportunities to young people, including those who have been brought up in incredibly challenging environments, is fantastic.

“He is a brilliant example of a business leader who is investing in school leavers and equipping them with the skills for a lifetime of secure employment. I really do pay tribute to Craig and the entire team at Everkool.”

Greenwood added: “Our business growth in recent years has surpassed our expectations and so has afforded me the chance to expand our apprenticeship and training programme.

“I’m a firm believer in investing in young people, especially those who’ve had it tough growing up, to give them the skills to have a rewarding career and a good life. We’ve recruited ten new apprentices this year and I hope to empty even more in the future.”

Merseyside air-conditioning firm Everkool says interest in its cooling and ventilation products has doubled in February after temperatures soared 10 degrees higher than usual for the time of year.

The Bootle-based company which supplies air conditioning appliances had record enquiries about their services last week from people feeling the heat from the spring-like warm and dry conditions.

Company figures reveal enquiries are up by 60% on the same time in 2018.

It follows a record summer for the business last year which saw them fit more air-conditioning appliances in households and shopping centres across Merseyside than ever before.

Everkool’s founder and managing director Craig Greenwood said:

“There has been a spike in interest in February from people enquiring about air-conditioning products which is unusual for the time of year but it does fit in with a general trend of people investing in household cooling facilities.

Traditionally the majority of our business has come from fitting out offices, shopping centres and other public buildings but there is a clear increase in demand from households as temperatures rise.

It is conceivable that demand for cooling could overtake that for heating if temperatures continues to rise.

We saw it during last summer’s heatwave which resulted in record business for Everkool.“

Bootle-based Everkool doesn’t normally see a spike in demand until spring but with the mercury now exceeding a balmy 20 degrees it is receiving record enquiries.

Record February temperatures has seen demand for workplace cooling appliances rise significantly according to one Merseyside air-conditioning firm.

Everkool doesn’t normally see a spike in demand until at least April or May but with the mercury now exceeding a balmy 20 degrees it is receiving record enquiries from companies looking to keep their staff cool.

Founder and managing director of the Bootle business, Craig Greenwood, estimates demand is around 60% than it was this time last year.
