When Liverpool’s “Blind Tiger” finally opened its doors on 13th June 2015 it marked the end of a magical transformation of number 71 Seel Street and the next stage in its remarkable history.

The site of a former Kung Fu School, which was derelict when Blind Tiger’s celebrated Creative Director Peter Kane initially received the keys in summer 2014, the basement of 71 Seel Street is now unrecognisable from its previous state – with brickwork restored to its former glory and a strong palette of rich colour, pattern and texture throughout, the ideal location for an Asian style speakeasy and cocktail destination.

With a proven track record and an enviable reputation of specifying, installing and maintaining air conditioning, ventilation and refrigeration systems to Liverpool’s bars, clubs, restaurants and hotels, Everkool were delighted to be asked to work on the restoration.

Working hand-in-hand with the Client, their architects, appointed quantity surveyors and Liverpool City Council we utilised our product expertise and leveraged our established manufacturer partnerships to select a range of equipment to meet the specific requirements of the site – ensuring stock was available and delivered when required and it was procured to meet the best value requirements of the Client.

An accredited installer and Business Solutions Partner with Mitsubishi Electric, we had no hesitation is specifying four of their ceiling cassette air conditioning systems to meet Blind Tiger’s air conditioning needs across the internal basement space which includes a reception, private alcoves, a guest-list entrance and a performance stage.

In addition to the air-conditioning we played a critical role in the very heart of Blind Tiger, its kitchen, with the installation of fresh air and extract systems to the outside of the building (and the toilets!), supply and install of stainless steel canopy hoods, backing sheets and finally a J&E Hall Cellar Cooling system.

“Projects like this are what we at Everkool are renowned for, so we were naturally delighted to be able to work with the team at Blind Tiger to complete the installation. It’s absolutely fantastic to see the building back in use and definitely well worth a visit.” Craig Greenwood, Director, Everkool
